Does anyone know what kind of pest would cause this kind of damage? If a pest at all? I’ve had spider mites in the past and this looks significantly different. There was no webbing, I looked with a magnifying glass and saw nothing. I have no clue what this can be. All other leaves on this plant look great. I also don’t think this leaf looks sad??? The plants that were next to this plant are also good. I have no idea what this is 😂

Sometimes when I have new leaves with a velvety texture, they come out like this when new. I thought it was spider-mites at first as well. It fades over time. Not sure what causes it though.

Thrips will do this. If the leaf gets stuck too, check inside the curl

I am thinking thrips too. I think they like to nibble on new leafs when they are forming and get really tucked up in there and no way to get to them.

Do you have tips on how to get rid of them? I’ve never had them before. I rinsed the leaves, washed them with tea tree&peppermint castille soap, let them soak in the soap for 30 minutes. Then I rinsed them and sprayed the leaves and soil with neem. I also have her isolated and checked/treated everyone else in the cabinet where this one was.

      You can use beneficial mites

Yeah pretty much what you did. Rinse and repeat a few more times, once a week. Or bennifisial mites. But not both at same time. One or the other.
