At what point do you decide you’re not cut out to be a plant parent? After a year of trial and error… I am still making lots of errors. 🫤

I recommend watching Summer Rayne Oakes’ Houseplant 101 YouTube playlist. Lots of the advice in plant websites and resources is vague and doesn’t tell you the reasons behind mistakes and plant issues. Try that before you give up ☺️

Learning by “failure” is successful learning in my mind. There are a plethora of amazing You tube planty people to endlessly learn from for each and every plant and problem. Don’t give up! Just dive deeper. The only thing that makes plant care difficult is the not knowing.

Thank you! I’m going to start watching YouTube videos. And you’re right. The learning process IS a series of errors. My poor plants though. They’ve suffered.

I get it!! I would say until it doesn’t give you any more joy. I’ve learned SO much from following a lot of plant Instagram pages. That’s where I’ve gotten most of my knowledge. And while I scroll Instagram (which I usually do daily) I’m learning more about plants! Its also my experience that this app is very heavy handed on watering which is the main reason most plants die (in my experience). I would keep that in mind!
