Please help! My cat Palm is looking very sad! (The third picture is what it looked like a month ago). It had mites on it a couple weeks ago so I washed all the leaves with water then sprayed neam oil. Then again recently I noticed even more mites so I washed it with water and put neam oil again.

I use captain jacks dead bug brew to treat and I use a peppermint, neem oil, mix for prevention. I’d try the bug brew! Are you still seeing webs?

Thank you I will try that! I’m not seeing any webs anymore. I’m just hoping I can revive the plant. I’m not sure what caused the leaves to turn all brown and dry out. Do you think it was from the mites or the neam oil/spraying it with water?

I just went through this with my areca palm. I treated for spider mites with Captain Jack’s, but I had not watered it for a while, so it went through a watering imbalance. Plus, I think it was getting too much direct sunlight. So the leaves were all burnt and spotted looking. So I cut off the parts that were black or brown or whatever because they’re not going to get better and I just made sure that I had a more consistent schedule with watering. I also moved it further back from the window.

I don’t think it was the oil- it’s possible it was mites or the other issues I mentioned
