It does look similar to root rot/overwatering issues I’ve had with other plants. Not 100% sure but might not be bad to check

𝓒𝓪𝓻𝓶𝓲'𝓼 𝓞𝓪𝓼𝓲𝓼A Thrip infestation. You will need something with copper in it. Like Captain Jacks.
