Just discovered veryyyy small round brown bugs climbing on the outside of my hoya pot. There was also some on the small new growth. Any ideas what it could be. Def not scale, mealy bugs, thrips, spider mites.

Is the pot outside? I just had my bug guy come to treat our property (he uses rosemary, chrysanthemum, and peppermint extracts to spray. All plant and animal friendly!) I showed him some tiny bugs just like that on my outdoor pots. He told me they were baby Japanese Elm Beetles and that they hatch this time of year and then are gone in a week. Two days ago I saw black bugs about the size of a grain of rice, all over my porch. Most of them had gone belly up, but a few were still crawling around my windows and plants. I sent a photo to my guy just to be sure and he confirmed that those were the adolescent Japanese Elm bugs. He said they don't hurt plants or animals and they don't bite and they would gone soon. Today I haven't seen any live ones yet. If you start to see some bigger beetle things in the same spots you saw the little speck ones, it might be the same bug. Nothing to worry about and gone in a week!

Also the bugs are so incredibly small I just thought it was the pot itself. Only noticed they were moving when I got in real close

Interestingggg, the pot is always inside and nothing in my room has have contact with the outside. I checked the plants close to it too but they’re clean

Japanese Elm Beetle. When she described that bug I looked it up. I’m a chronic looker-upper
