mold spores, very hard to get rid of. i would repot into fresh soil and spray the roots off fully get them cleaned and spray with hydrogen peroxide, sanitize the pot, and make sure the pot has drainage, it being in the double pot could mean itās sitting in water in there even if you donāt water it in there. if it is, make sure to let the plant sit for about an hour after watering to drain fully, then place it back in itās aesthetic pot

Thatās what confuses me because itās in a well draining nursery pot with an ācatchā pot under it to get the access water. Right now sheās not doing to good and is not so perky and not having lush green leaves so Iām not sure noir understanding what is going on with her.

i would just make sure no water ever sits in that catch pot; that could be why thereās mold

I read that the mold doesnāt really harm the plant, but it does mean youāre overwatering. I just scoop mine out and spray top of soil with lemongrass pest spray and life goes back to normal. š¤·āāļø

I believe she was overwatered at the store I do the inch test when itās dry you water, right now sheās being watered more because sheās not so perky so Iām trying to experiment with whatās gonna perk her up. Sheās my biggest project right now haha š .
1 gillaEverything Iāve seen has said the mold isnāt super harmful to you or your plant. That being said, Iāve used cinnamon on mine when this happens. I dust the soil then use a stick to mix it in very slightly. Be carful not to make the layer too thick. I have had it burn the stems of my plants before (but I really went overboard). Iāve used it on many different types of plants and it works well without damaging the plant (unless user error). I agree with the others above though, I usually see mold when overwatering/poor air flow.

Makes sense haha itās also used as a common pest deterrent so that might even be an added bonus haha
