There are tiny black flying bugs around my pothos, I have not repotted, any natural suggestions on how to get rid of them without destroying my plants?

I use Mosquito Bits and try to keep the media dryer

Do you put dry mosquito bits on top of the soil?

I sprinkle on top and then mix the bits into the top layer of the media with a chopstick.

I have gnats around my plants this year too. I’m thinking because of the volume. Maybe try traps or sticky tape like suggested. I can’t imagine they’d be too harmful

I use a spray neem oil I got on Amazon. Works great if you let the top inch of soil dry out. Spray with neem oil and let it dry out again

There is also neem powder you can powder the very top layer and then spray the leaves. I know the fungus gnats don’t do anything but they just disgust me, maybe it’s their horrible name lol.

Is the neem powder 100% neem? Or other pesticides in it? Any idea?

Omg, same thing with my pothos! They are so tiny and annoying and are flying all over my room.

Neem powder is 100% ground up neem leaves with no other additives, I get the organic option! *It’s best to mix into the soil when you repot just right off the bat because the FGs lay up to 300 eggs per batch, they hatch in 4 days, live for 14, and you can have so many generations in the soil and it will just never end.* FYI: Neem oil STINKS so bad. That’s why I recommend using disposable gloves and using a lemongrass spray over top (it’s natural and smells nice, made for plant pests, but in this instance it’s just for smell).

Aww thanks so much for the help! I just got my plant not to long ago and have been iffy about repotting it but im planning on it soon. Im so excited for these tiny things to go away! 😁😁 I was wonder if neem oil would work good too because i was planning on getting the oil instead of the powder.
