I was watering my Peace Lilly today when I noticed two types of worms drain from the soil. Two worms are small and white and one is long and dark. I’ve had a bad infestation of fungus gnats that I’ve been treating for 3 weeks. It’s almost under control. I’ve been using Sticky Traps, Zevo Lights and Mosquito Bits. But these worms are new. Do I need to worry and is there some way to get rid of it? Thanks!

I don't usually worry too much if I see a worm or even some of the smaller beetle's we get. I worry more about ants or gnats, colonies of anything--a few are fine but bring your entire family and we will have a problem! Worms are good for soil because they help aerate and provide nutrients. I fact, you can ferilize soil with worm castings! Most garden centers sell it. That being said, worms like moisture, so if you're finding them frequently, you may need to adjust your watering schedule.

Thank you!!! That’s a relief, I got very anxious due to the infestation of gnats I’ve been dealing with didn’t want another one. Appreciate the help!!

Looks like you have some millipedes in there as well. Millipedes are pretty harmless unless they run out organic matter to eat, and then they may turn to your tiny plant roots.
