ArchousHe’s fine. I wouldn’t worry. Are you planning on planting that in the ground? I’m in Zone 9b and I have this in my front yard and it’s THRIVING. I have to cut it regularly bc otherwise it’d take over my other shrubs.

I’m in the zone 8a I don’t think I’m going to plant him in the ground bcuz I’m a beginner plus we get the grass cut and I don’t want them to cut my plant

Well I wouldn’t plant it in the grass, but you could actually take a cutting, and stick it straight in the ground. You could also stick it in a glass of water and put it in your window sill to grow roots. I’ve had to propagate both ways, stuck in the ground wasn’t as successful but I also did it during warm weather. 3 out of 5 survived. That’s how I got my plant, my mother in law gave me some clippings and I just planted them when I got home 😁 that way you can have it in the container or in the ground. But it grows fast so you’d need to probably give it a bigger pot eventually.
