Hi there! Cross posting this here: I received this bird’s nest plant as a gift and, while repotting her, noticed these small white insects. Can anyone tell me what they are and if they’re harmful? I’ve searched some and think they may be garden centipedes so I’m thinking I should probably clean off the root ball but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks!

Right! I’ve never seen experienced these before. I removed the soil and cleaned off the roots just to be safe

In small numbers they will not hurt your plant and just eat decaying matter in your soil. I have read if they run out of stuff to eat in the dirt, they can start munching on your plant… so I’d recommend starting fresh with new soil since you’ve got it out of the pot anyways ☺️ and put the dirt and those cute little fellas outside so they can find a new home 😌
