Hydrangeas from Whole Foods, got them a month ago, they were a GORGEOUS purpulish blue. The plant feels and looks healthy, besides this weird color it’s turning into (greenish greyish color) What does this mean? What can I do to revive the color back to a beautiful blue? Thank you in advance !

I’ve heard that blossom color depends on the acidity level of the soil they’re in. It might be that the acidity/alkalinity of the water you’re using is different than what they were getting in the shop. Or maybe the blooms are fading out to save more energy for the plant while adjusting to their new home.

Also their blooming season might be near the end depending on what climate zone you’re in.

This can be because of a number of different things.. such as… receiving too much sun - not a lot of water - or the wrong type of nutrients As well as - from the pH of your soil, this is probably the main reason, but all those other ones above come into play too… have you transplanted it recently? Try adding elemental sulfur and aluminum sulfate or sulfuric acid to your soil.

I don’t know where you would even get sulphuric acid but PLEASE do not use it unless you’re a trained chemist. And not on your plants. There are plenty of safe methods of adjusting your soil pH
