Hi everyone! My bonsai I purchased in September (unknown kind, didn’t come with care advice 😬) was doing fine until around May, and now is gradually dropping leaves. Why would it do worse in the summer?? Bonsais are outside of my limited plant knowledge…I think I’m overwatering, or is it not enough light? We’re in the US Midwest, the plant is next to a northwest facing window, and watering every few days as per Planta’s advice for a similar bonsai. Can it be saved? I’m always afraid of shocking the plant and making it worse by changing something too drastically. Thanks for any advice!

Looks like it might have been overwatered. The moss and soil look mushy.

Thanks! Probably also doesn’t help that it gets watered inconsistently when we travel during the summer.
