I have a hosta planted in the ground outside and she's not doing well at all. I just fertilized her today, and she is planted in mulch. She has a lot of tiny holes in her leaves 🍁 so it may be a pest of some sort? Not sure I've never had pests before. It also may be underwatering because since she is outside I forget about her often but my indoor plants get more care. It may also be the weather recently, we have had a lot of cloudy and windy days, but not much rain here in Pennsylvania. If you need anymore info to help me, please ask. But Please help!

It’s so hot out I’ve been watering my hostas everyday it could easily be due to underwatering, also I’ve noticed if my dog ever pees on mine they turn yellow and die so if you have animals try to keep them away, and give her a good water, she’s still pushing out new growth so she should be okay just try remember to step outside and give her some water ❤️ you’re doing great!

Thank you so much for the advice! I kinda felt bad I was neglecting Hannah (the plant).

If you have a fully shady area you could try to move some house plants outside to try to remember I lost my whole garden last year due to forgetting! this year I moved my plants outside to water and now my garden is growing 🤣 I just have to have something I have to see everyday outside to remember! Hannah will be happy to see some love I’m sure she will pop out some new big leaves 🥰 I’ve also noticed watering the ground not the plant helps with pests! She’s so beautiful 😍 happy planting

Be careful with fertilizing when a plant is stressed. I know it may seem like you are trying to help it by doing so, but plants can only handle up-taking fertilizer when they are thriving. When a plant is sick or struggling or even dying, fertilizer will actually hurt it more. A bit counter-intuitive. But there it is.

I use Sevin Dust on my hostas for pests.
