I’m not sure what to do with this parlor palm. I keep getting brown spots on the leaves and some leaves are drying out. Any ideas? I thought at first I was overwatering and I put it in a smaller pot so it would dry out quicker. But it’s gotten worse since then. 🤔

For the yellowing, possibly to little light? And I don’t know specifically but the darker spots looks like a problem with the roots.

I almost wonder if it’s too much light—what kind of light does it get? We have one that’s a couple of feet from a grow light and it seems happy. I agree that the brown spots might be root issues—check for rot and foul smell when you pull it out of the pot…

I have been having the same problem with mine. The roots look fine I’ve reported it a couple times with fresh soil moved it to different locations and idk. The whole thing looks terrible but it’s still has some new fronds sprouting that look equally ugly. She gets regular baths with neem oil in case of fungus so idk.

I have had one that is about 15 years old. It lived inside when it was houseplant size, but for the most part has lived outside in my covered front porch area. For the first few years outside (before I new better) I put it in a spot where it got a few hours of direct sun hitting it every day, and it started to look really bad with super pale (sunburned) leaves and brown tips and the weird brown spots in center of new growth. When i moved it to full shade (indirect light), it slowly grew new beautiful dark green leaves as I cut off all the old ratty ones. But even now to this day it will have an occasional weird brown patch in a new leaf growth (in happens when leaf is baby all smooshed up). And I still get brown tips depending on weather (probably from slightly under-watering). But i just manicure the tips and make it look pretty again. I just accept the imperfection and the plant is just fine.

That is most definitely a fungal infection. You can tell by the yellow ring around the brown spots. I would google how to treat this particular plant for fungus, but for a lot of plants the recommendation is to cut off the infected leaves
