I got my jade plant in April from my local supermarket, and it was pretty small when I got it. It’s been in perfect health from then and is growing fast. The other week I noticed a small patch of white mould growing, I think it’s grown off a dead jade leaf lying in the soil. I don’t know if it had fallen off into the pot from another jade plant at the supermarket, because none of the leaves seem to have fallen off my one. I left it to see if it went away, or if the plant/soil would absorb it. It is still here, should I remove it or just leave it?? (Sorry for blurry photo)

I would remove it. Mold isn’t good around plants. Just take it out, as well as a bit of the soil around it to make sure you got all of it. Hope this helps! šŸ’š

Sometimes that doesn’t work because mold comes back. After removing it two days in a row after it coming back, I would change the soil and rinse the pot.

I saw some mold in one of my cacti I just transplanted. I figured it’s just humid because of summer. I left it but I don’t concern myself with it. If it got too bad I’d remove it. (I have a mindset of if I can’t throw it in the ground and it grows I can’t have it or I’ll kill it :p ). Do what makes you feel better. As a microbiologist I will say there’s billions of these microbes in the soil so if the plant looks ok then it should be fine. Listen to what your plant says. I got a jade plant too btw. It was very scraggly but is growing quick now!

Sometimes with mold what’s lacking is good air flow around the plant, if you’re able to set it near an open window or air it outside for an hour a day that might help. They like dryness.
