I bought this prayer plant that wasn’t looking too good about 5 days ago cause I felt bad for it. I thought that with a little water it would perk back up but more leaves are curing up. What would you do? Repot? Leave it for a while longer?

those are new leaves!! leave it be. it looks fairly happy. takes time to adjust. give it time. mine was the same way and then eventually it started flourishing

0 Me gustayes, they eventually uncurled for me. sometimes when they get new leaves they drop the old ones too. but also i agree with the comment below mine and it might be a root issue.
0 Me gustaCheck those roots!! If they are everywhere then repot it, also maybe change the soil/compost
2 Me gustaI’ll check. It was dry as a bone when I bought it and started first with just giving it a drink.

Are you watering the calathea with distilled or filtered or rain water? They are sensitive to lime in tap water, and eventually if watered with tap, the lime and minerals will build up around the roots, leading to the plant showing symptoms of being underwatered because even though you are watering appropriately, the roots are so caked with these minerals that they can’t absorb it, so they will seem dehydrated. Also give it more indirect light. It will help.
0 Me gustaMy calathea is doing great. This is a Maranta leuconeura, commonly called prayer plant. I water with filtered water. Luckily, living in Portland oregon we have very good water.
