I brought this rubber tree home on February first and it has yet to show any signs of growth. The sheath is the same size it was when I got it and is not unfurling. I finally cut off the top leaf because it was curling, hoping that might help, but no change. It’s in a south facing window, not rootbound, and I’m pretty sure it’s not overwatered. Any suggestions to encourage growth??

I got given a rubber plant for my birthday last September and the exact same - no change at all for almost 9 months - a month or 2 ago I repotted it - even though it wasn’t root bound. Plants are clever and know if they don’t have enough base to support growing taller. It may be it need a slightly bigger support.

I completely agree with the previous commenter. Go just an inch bigger and the best soil mix would be 1:1:1 peat moss, pine bark, & sand. Good luck!

I’ve found that mine is just a slow grower. I have a cutting about that size who is still rooting and hasn’t shown new growth in a month or so

I repotted mine in something bigger and it started growing pretty quickly. I’ve also moved it around a bit and it seemed to like direct morning light best but not too close. I did burn mine 😢

Mine was indoors for several months near a window, but I saw no growth. When I moved her to my green house, she put out constant growth. I find mine do best in bright light.
