What is the best way to get rid of thrips? I feel like whenever I notice them it’s always too late. I have been rubbing 1 part rubbing alcohol 7 parts water on the leaves and stems with q tips. I also use neem oil periodically. TIA!

I would start using Neem oil on a regular basis. Start a 7-14day treatment interval. Cover the plant in oil, and allow it to dry before you put it in full sun or the leaves can potentially burn. You can also use a gentle cloth and wipe excess oil off the leaves after about 20 minutes of letting it soak. Make sure you’re coating the soil and underside of leaves as well with the oil. You can also add a bit into your plant water if you prefer.

Neem oil is great but it doesn’t kill the eggs in soil. Only live ones. This works to kill all and won’t harm your plant at all. Spray over and under leafs to dripping and on soil surface. Good luck!

I’ve also been dealing with thrips and found this to be pretty effective so far and very low maintenance

I’m also dealing with thrips the past two weeks- I’ve been using a rotation of captain jacks dead bug brew, neem oil, and insecticidal soap every couple days or when I remember. I’ve also treated with bonide systemic granules to maintain protection/preventative for future pests. Maybe a bit extra, but I want to make sure get all of them, and they’re so tricky living on the soil, plant tissues, as well as the leaves 😅 Good luck!
