I’ve had this for about 6 months but it’s not lost it’s bright red colour is the flowers and they seem to be drying up. Any help people have on this would be great as I love it and want to see it come back if I can.

Its so pretty! What is it? Hard to say not knowing species, but best guess is 2 things: needs a grow light & the flowers are hogging all the energy from leaves.

It’s a Vriesea ‘Astrid’ or a flaming Sword ‘Astrid’. Thanks I’ll look into a grow light

Bromeliads usually only bloom once and then they start throwing pups (which you can remove and grow into new plants but it’ll take some years for a bract to grow) basically preparing to die. Once the main bract dies, it won’t grow back unfortunately. Feel free to check me on this since it’s a blanket statement for most bromeliads.
