This Jade (I think) of mine, Jasper, isn’t doing too hot. Looks like the base of his stems has rotted. Can I revive him in any way? Would I cut off the bad stem and just attempt to stick in the okay stem without roots? Should I propagate from leaves only? He does still look like he’s growing (new green-ish leaves at the very top).

I had a jade plant given to me that had done the same kind of thing, I salvaged the tops, placed them in cactus/succulent soil, covered with plastic wrap to keep humid, and they have started to make a come back. It’s been a slow but rewarding process!

That’s awesome, congrats! Do you think a mix of regular soil and perlite might work? And did you cut off the tops with scissors? Any advice for how far down to cut? I know very little other than ā€œhey, it looks like it’s dyingā€ lol

As long as they’re in soil with good drainage you should be okay ā˜ŗļø I didn’t know much of anything about propagating them at the time. Clean scissors should do the trick and let the cutting callous over before planting them. Good lock!
