I recently got a pepperomia and it looks a little worse for wear. I repotted it into soil and a nursery pot. I water when recommended. Any ideas what could be wrong with it?

ahh poor little guy. if you had checked his roots and they seemed healthy, im not really sure what it could be. it could be root rot as well. or maybe he just needs some fertilizer so the new soil you put him in should give him something to go off from for a while

Oy. Peperomia Watermelon are notoriously difficult. I still haven’t quite figured them out yet. I can say, that they loath being repotted. Also, the pot you chose might be too big (too much soil) for the size of the root ball, which will probably cause eventual root rot unless you are super careful not to soak to whole pot when watering. Other varieties of Pepperomia seem to be much easier to care for and thrive. Don’t feel too bad, its just a very difficult plant. Prognosis looking dim. 🫣

The pot looks too big. Also , they don't like to be watered often.
