My poor spider plant did so great in its first few months of life but it’s been this small and sad since August which is crazy since they usually grow so fast! It had been propagating in this window but I moved it when I potted it since Planta said it was too much sun. But I just moved it back to the window a couple days ago and repotted it with fresh soil (the roots were pitiful). Any other tips of what I can do to help it thrive?

It could be the type of water u r giving it. Mine don’t like tap water. It’s too harsh on them so I have to do distilled or spring water

I usually let my tap water sit out overnight and use that water to water it. But maybe I need to get distilled water.

I wouldn’t go straight to the water just yet tbh - it’s possible but there can be some other issues to look at first. I’m a bit confused about the timeline - was it water propagating since August and just moved to soil? Fwiw I wouldn’t completely rely on Planta for light advice since it can be pretty basic/unhelpful at times. Instead look at the plant - was it crisping in the sun, looking dry, shriveled etc? Since it was just repotted I’d give a week or so to calm down - plants don’t like being moved (they usually stay in one place their whole lives!) and being repotting can be stressful. It might look sad for a bit while it focuses on root growth in the new pot and adapting to the new environment :)

It was in water propagation last year and I planted it in soil in June of last year. It grew well from June to august then got brown ends I had to trim off but seemed more from overwatering rather than under watering. So it’s just been at the same size since August with very little growth and change. But still alive.

How often do you water? It also might be getting not enough/too much light

I was watering about once every 4-6 days I think but I think it was too often so I’m doing it less now. I was just doing it however often planta recommended but now I’ve been snoozing it and only watering when it’s dry. And it’s had dim light and bright indirect but now is in a window (but I’m in Oregon and in an apartment so it’s still not super direct light). But that’s where it was when it did well when I first moved it from the propagation water to a pot.
