Help! I recently got a rescue cat palm and some of the leaves have turned yellow with the rest having severe browned tips. New growth is also turning yellow and she’s barely getting any new leaves at all. My guess is overwatering but i have her outside so i dont know how that would make much sense!

I was also given a few of these exact ones (hand me down) with the same exact problem. I think that because they live outside and it rained so much more than usual this year (I’m in Southern California), they got overrained and probably have some amount of root rot. However, I just put them on a regular watering schedule and cut off all of the yellowing fronds and any rot I can see from the soil up and all the new growth is coming out green and healthy so that’s where I’m at with it, lol. I should probably re-Soil and re-pot them, but these are sort of “if they live they live” hand me downs, so… Seem to be doing better now that I did that.

Thank you! Ive been having lots of rain where i live as well so that’s probably the issue. Ima transfer her into a pot with more drainage up the sides and bottom to see if that does anything which is better than nothing i guess
