Hello! I’ve had this cactus for nearly 3 years now and in the past few months it’s started to look a little worse for wear. I did just repot it for the first time (I know I should’ve done it sooner) and I’m propagating one of the leaves in case this is the end for it. It’s got these light brown spots and cracks on one side and the base looks dark brown. The leaves are also pretty wrinkly (which used to only happen when it was underwatered but now it’s always like that). Is it root rot?

Can you check the roots? It may be root rot. Root rot is mushy black/brown roots

The soil is probably the issue here. They need a gritty substrate with barely any soil in it. Check out the cactus and succulent soil specified in the recommended soil types for your cactus. A repotting is definitely necessary ā˜ŗļø

Yes, it may be a problem with the new soil, or root rot. Maybe both.
