I am a novice who has thrown herself into the deep end with all things plants. This Fiddle Leaf Fig, aka Figgy, was discounted so I know she needs some TLC. My question is this, Figgy’s roots are showing, does that mean she needs to be repotted? I looked online but I found conflicting answers. TIA!

Maybe check the soil/roots to see how root bound it is. If not root bound, maybe just add some top soil amendment to cover some of exposed roots? If it is also root bound below, def repot/size up slightly.

Thank you! I had my husband help me lift her out and she is not root bound so I just covered up the roots with soil. Thanks again!

Definitely needs a bigger pot! But I LOVE fiddle leaf figs, and have one and have had it for almost 8 years!

Thanks! I have been looking at different kinds of soil. Is there one that you have used and would recommend?

You can make your own from potting soil/perlite/orchid mark. It needs to be a chunky, well-draining mix!
