I’ve sprayed my dieffenbachia down with neem oil a few times and use systemic insect control on top of soil. I repotted also but it needed it anyway. I’m hoping that solved the problem. That’s the advice I was given.

Really, getting rid of any pest can be fixed by giving your plant a shower and a wipe down with a damp paper towel. Don’t know about thrips AT ALL, but if they invade the soil like ants, repotting them will help.

Repeated treatments with about a week in between usually has the best effect. They have several generations developing on a plant and the young are unfortunately protected from treatments. In other words you’ll have to wait for new young thrips to hatch and treat it again. 3 -4 weeks in a row usually has a good initial effect but more might be needed to get rid of them totally
