Hey! Newbie plant mom here- this is a phal orchid. Some of the flowers are wilting and the leaves look like they’re yellowing? (I might be wrong) I never put it in direct sunlight, I only water it once a week, and my room is the right temperature. Am i doing something wrong?

It may be due to watering schedule, humidity, or that the plant is done blooming which is perfectly fine a natural.

It looks like you have some unopened buds. It seems pretty early for it to be dropping blooms. If you do have unopened bloom, I suggest you investigate the roots. Make sure it’s not staying too wet. Good rule of thumb is to let the roots turn silver again. Another possibility is it could be dropping them because it’s in a new home. Phals are beautifully forgiving it you don’t keep them too wet. Good luck!

I agree! The roots looks pretty cramped up in that pot and substrate.

looks like overwatering and needs a repot, orchids need their roots to dry out enough to breathe air basically, some people i know water once ever 2 weeks or even 3. they do well on neglect

okay so apparently there were no drainage holes in the pot that it originally came from, so all that watering just stayed there in the roots. i’ve repotted it and trimmed the roots, it seems to be doing much better!! ty y’all <3
