Help !!! My cats have waged total war on my strawberry plants. They’re planted in planters and since it’s not quite nice enough to plant them outdoors i’ve been carrying them outside every morning and carrying them back inside onto my porch every evening to avoid frost and cold temperatures at night. I’m usually watching my cats around them like a hawk (they love soaking up the sun on the porch), since they have a tendency to eat / mess with my plants. Well, in a poor lapse of judgement this morning, I left them unattended for literally, like, two minutes, in which time one (or both) of my cats have completely demolished all six of my poor strawberry plants’ leaves. Will they be able to bounce back from this?! I’m an emotional wreck right now. They were doing so well and starting to grow some berries! :’( How can I make them less appealing to my cats so this won’t ever happen again?! Any answers are greatly appreciated. Sincerely, - One Broken-Hearted Plant/Fur Momma <\3

If you dilute some citrus juice (lemon I feel would probably work best but you could use lime or orange) with water then spray it on the leaves it should keep your cats away

I’ve heard that tin foil can scar the cats away. Maybe place the pots on some tin foil to about the cats getting near the plants. The strawberries should grow back though ā˜ŗļø

Use anything to repel the cats.
