Hi all, my rubber tree has spider mites! Can anyone advise on what has worked well to get rid of them? I’ve isolated it and plan on picking up neem oil, but I’m open to other suggestions. Thanks!

Hey there! Just fyi, only using neem will not be enough. You need to alternate between two treatments for mites or you’ll end up with a resistant colony. A lot of oils work great for mites. Stuff like miteX and smothering horticulture oil do great. You can also use Castile horticultural soap diluted with water because the soap will melt the mites exterior shell and dehydrate them. There’s also captain jacks dead brew which is made from spinosad. I wouldn’t use imidacloprid products because I haven’t found them to be very successful since they target insect nervous systems and mites are closer to arachnids. Hope this helps

New in the last year or two BONIDE Neem MAX….a Neem Oil with insecticide, fungicide, Miticide and nematicide…kills eggs, larvae, and adult insects. Almost sounds too good to be true.
