Anyone know what’s up with my money tree? The past few months she has been turning yellow and dropping all its leaves. The pot it was in was too small, so I repotted her and put out a bunch of new shoots in response, but is still dropping leaves (although at a slower rate). It seems like she wants to get rid of all old growth. She was doing so well until October when she stopped growing completely then started dropping leaves. Any help would be appreciated! I just moved so I now have her a foot below a grow light in a northern corner. She used to be a couple feet from a southern window with plenty of sun.

Hmm! It looks a little bit like light issues to me. How much light does your Money tree get?

At my old place she got great western afternoon sun and bright indirect all day, I tried to keep it out of direct sunlight. Now it’s right under a grow light (although I have her quarantined a few feet from it out of precaution for thrips). She thrived in western sun the past few years, and didn’t lose all leaves :(

Hey! I just wanted to say that I have had this happen to me before with my last money tree. The base branches got shriveled and soggy, and all the leaves were turning yellow and dropping to the ground. I did some research, and figured out that it had root rot. Turns out that it is a pretty common thing to find in money trees. What I found works best is, remove your money tree from the soil, and run the roots under cold water. Look for orange and mushy roots, and cut them off. Refill your pot with new soil, place it back in there, and make sure that it has great drainage. I hope this is helpful!

I gave her an intense haircut and left 2 emerging stems and it has since put out 5 new stems with no new yellowing. Roots looked good so I left it in the same pot
