And back again with more plant issues. My monstera’s have mold that grows on the bottom and around some sides of the pot. This was never an issue until about a week and a half ago and I have no idea what’s causing it! One is a terracotta pot the other is a stone? Or maybe clay pot? I bought both from Home Depot. Anyone know how to treat this problem & prevent it in the future? At this rate I’m feeling like the worst plant parent ever 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is totally normal. It doesn’t harm the plant in any way. This is mold due to the clay in the pot is allowing water through its pores. You need to place the pot on some kind of tray to avoid damaging the surfaces underneath it ☺️

Thank u so much I’ve been stressing so much about it. So I’m not the worst plant parent … just a beginner who barely knows what they’re doing without you guys 🤣

Is this mold harmful to humans or pets (cats). If so how do I clean it properly?

I haven’t found it to be harmful but I could be wrong. I use some dish soap and warm water to clean mine and it normally comes right off

Means your soil is living and happy! Not harmful but if it’s unsightly you can clean it up with soap and water as stated above.
