My cannas leaves got shredded by a hail storm last night. What can I do?

    I’ve gone through this before! My mom told me to leave the leaves on for the ones that were not flowering yet and cut back the ones that had no flower stalks left to the soil. So i took her advice and the ones with the torn leaves put out more leaves and once they did, I cut the torn ones back. Didn’t affect the flowering at all. The ones I cut to the soil, ended up putting out new shoots.
