Kida

Recently got a monstera. It was extremely root bound so I repotted in a pot 2” bigger, with a mixture of Orchid chips, regular potting mix and perlite to drain well. Appx. 4ft from south facing window. Why does it look so saggy?

Transplant shock. Did you remove old soil?

I did. But I guess I should note it was looking like this before as well… It had a few leaves that looked nice like the one further back in the image, but the others were weirdly sagging still.

Removing old soil will definitely do this. Only thing you can do now is put it somewhere brighter and let it recover.

Will some of the yellowed ish leaves recover? I was also taught to remove old soil when repotting… is that not always recommended?

I don’t recommend it. The stress it causes doesn’t outweigh any benefit. I only remove soil if I’m treating bugs or diseases, otherwise I just lightly tease edges and fill around.
