It could just be from standing water, my snake plant likes chunky soil so maybe it’s just from overwatering

I can’t say for certain but anytime I have that problem with soil chunky soil seems to help, although I don’t think the mold will harm your plant especially short term.

Yea I’m not sure, maybe it just got overwatered, does that pot have good drainage? My snake plant really doesn’t like water around its roots so it HAS to be in a well draining pot or it throws a fit lol

I’ll do some homework on it. Thank you for your input though. I appreciate it.

I heard sometimes in the dark the mold goes away. Not sure though.

I had this on my ring of fire! Airrate the soil with a chopstick & I used isopropyl alcohol on the top to help try out mine was a air circulation problem Also scoop out the top soil if you don’t want to repot If it keeps coming back you will need to repot & water less!

Also sprinkling cinnamon on the top helps as well!

If it starts turning creamy white-yellow and forms lots of little balls, it's a harmless mushroom called flowerpot parasol that's blooming (doesn't require treatment but you can pick the bloom if you want. It's not edible (causes stomach upset) so remove it if you have pets or kids that might try it. If you want to totally kill the mycellium, any fungicide should do.) If it stays as a light greyish fuzz, that's a mold and can indicate overwatering. treat it with a bit of hydrogen peroxide and improve soil drainage
