I have two plants with leaves curling up — tried less water, tried more water… is it a lighting issue?

There could be a few issues including pests, overwatering, lack of fertilizer, insufficient light or slow drying soil from poor air circulation. Looks like white pests on the back of the basil(?) plant. Could be thrips or spider mites. Hard to see well. I’m guessing. Check all the plants. The yellow sticky trap is for fungus gnats, I presume. The fungus gnat larvae eat roots, especially rotting roots from excess water. That could slow kill a young tender plant. Overwatering provides the continuously wet environment that breeds pests especially fungus gnats and mealybugs. Let the soil dry between watering. I can’t see the rim of the glass containers. The soil level is not near the rim. The soil could be slow to dry with poor air circulation from being too deep in the vessel. Consider growing them in 3” or 4” starter pots where the soil can dry quickly. Ensure there is sufficient light. Herbs need full sunlight. Starter plants can only take indirect bright light until they are larger. 🍀🪴
1 me gustaI just realized that may be a fern and not an herb. 😆 Looks like the container is too big and too deep. Excess soil hold excess water the plant can’t use. This leads to root rot.
