Got this Hoya that is clearly suffering from root rot. I cleaned her old soil off, did a hydrogen peroxide dip to get any fungus off of her roots and repotted. However, she’s still not retaining water. I have her under a grow light with a humidifier but I’m wondering if there’s any tips and tricks to help save her!

Loss of roots makes it harder to take in sufficient water and nutrients to sustain the entire plant. I would propagate at least 1/2 of it or more to give the remaining plant time to concentrate on growing more roots. It will have less leaves to hydrate. I would add rooting hormone, SuperThrive and fertilizer to help the mother plant out. You’ve already taken care of the watering and humidity. I would ensure the temperature doesn’t get too cold. 🍀🪴

Rooting hormone is such a smart idea, thank you so much!! I can’t believe I’ve never thought of that for root rot

Warmer water will help the roots that are left uptake water too.
