Halp! My dieffenbachia is doing rough after a hard repot. I got her from target (first mistake) about 3 months ago. She had to be treated for spider mites. After they were treated, it was finally time to repot. She was way overgrown in the pot she came in. I say it was a hard repot because it was super stressful - rots were packed with soil, so they had to be soaked to break it up. Roots were exposed. I did not see root rot while re-planting. I was expecting high stress. She’s in a bigger home now, but the stress is A LOT. Any tips to help her through it? Waterings have been regular and on schedule, sunlight is enough.

Mycorrhizal can help with transplant shock. Did you just treat once for spidermites? Or a full 60 days?

Full 60 days, since I got the plant

Def in shock and possibly now overwatered. Move it to bright light. Remove all struggling leaves. I would only go up 1-2 inches in pot size. It will bounce back, just takes time.

Will do! The pot it’s in not is probably about 2 inches bigger than the last. Thank you for your advice!

There’s rarely a need to break up a root ball while repotting.
