My lovely 3 year old Hoya Australis Lisa has succumbed to a fast spreading fungal or virus. The roots look good. The infection doesnāt show on the roots. The soil is mostly dry. Itās barely damp in the center. I tore apart the soil and found nothing. It went from healthy to dropping many leaves on less than a week. I tossed it. š©
I have a couple stories like this coming up quick. I can't manage to get the mealies out of this one. Then it bloomed like this to buy itself some time. Re-potting it is a nightmare because it refuses to be upright.
I want to send it to Arizona where it can get picked over my spiders lol.
2 gillningar Mealybugs are my nemesis! They are tenacious. My backyard lizards and tree frog populations are down from the 4 days of snow we got in south Texas. So, the mealybugs are extra right now. So are the orange aphids.

Ugh that is a shame. I was literally about to purchase one and wasnāt sure and this convinced me itās not the right plant for me.
1 gilla Itās a great plant. I sometimes forget about it and it gets a little dry. But, it perks up after watering. I would definitely buy another one. Fungus/virus got to it before I realized it was infected.

0 gillningar I am about to give last rights to a Mathilde!š I have several in starter pots. I have one in a two inch tiny pot that got too dry nd canāt recover. Operator error.š Try a Hoya Chouke. Itās a cross between a Mathilde and a Carnosa. Fast growing. Easy care. Thrives in bright morning sunlight or filtered southern sunlight Leaves are much smaller than a Carnosa and slightly larger than a Mathilde. The pics show growth progress. Itās still in its 4ā pot. About $20 (Plant Proper, Gabriella Nursery).
