Hey guys I'm trying to decide if this lavender plant I have is alive, or dead, or just sleeping. I water it pretty routinly if the soil is dry. I trimmed off some parts that just snapped off and left the ones that didn't. However it was very fragrent when I did this.

If the entire plant is completely brown and the stems snap easily when bent, it's likely dead.

I had a lavender plant that did this; when I checked the stems closest to the root ball they were still green and alive but everything above a certain point was dead. Happened in the winter. I trimmed all the dead stuff off and gave it some time and love and some portions grew back. It thrived enough that when my mom’s lavender plant died, I gifted her mine, otherwise I’d share a photo. Long story short, there’s a sliver of hope if any part of the stems bend but don’t break and have some green to them inside.

I'd do this. There's legit always spring hope!!! I've had some seriously rough looking lavender and rosemary on the stoop and they've popped back in spring. So often worth a shot. If you're not seeing anything mid spring, it's toast
