I am very new to houseplants. For Valentine’s Day I got this Scindapsus pictus (sorry if I butchered that) Silver Lady plant. It’s my first and only plant and I seem to be having an issue. These 3 leaves are very sad. They all come off of the same stem and the roots don’t seem to be attached to the rest of the plant. When I lightly pulled on it to take a picture it was as if I could pull this whole section out of the soil… like it’s not attached at all to the rest of the roots/stems in the pot. Should I remove it? Or would that hurt the rest of the plant?

I’d recommend removing it, removing the two most damaged leaves, and propagating the stem in water with the greenest leaf still attached. Once it grows roots, you can repot it in the same pot. Just make sure the stem has a couple of nodes below the water level.

is the plant one whole plant or a couple cuttings in a pot? if it's separate plants i would do a repot and remove the cutting that is rotting and check the rest of them and it its one plant i would repot and remove as much rot from the plant and roots as possible. (don't forget to sanitize your knife) depending on the situation it could need a new soil mix or maybe just need to be watered more often or maybe it needs more light. every plant is different just do some testing and see what works best for your plant and the environment its in.
