I woke up today to a new leaf that opened on my bird of paradise, however the top part of the leaf did not open and now the leaf is split and I don’t know what to do.

    Humidity may be too low. Wrap a damp paper towel around it to soften the rolled leaf.

      If it’s still a little sticky after this, I always have found misting the leaf a ton helps, and in a pinch I use a WET q-tip to veeeery gently help it unfurl

    This happens due to low humidity. I learned a tick a few years ago to take soak a sponge in hot water and use the backside very LIGHTLY and run it up and down the seam of the leaf to help open it!
