Hey all, I need some help! I was going to water my plants and was doing my normal check ups when I saw what looks like a mushroom (shown in the picture) growing off one of the roots. I pulled it off and took the small root off that it was on as well in the hopes that it doesn’t spread but does anyone know what I should do/if this is a big problem?? I’ve had this plant for so long and I’ve never seen this before!

It does look like a mushroom. 🍄 I’ve seen them when I water to much. Maybe?

That looks like a flowerpot parasol that's old and drying up. They're harmless to the plants (probably shouldn't let any pets eat them.) They can indicate overwatering if they pop up frequently, but otherwise they just like the healthy soil conditions

Oh ok, good to know! Seeing it freaked me out but I’ll try watering a little less, thank you!

This just means your soil is active! I normally see this though on compost or any soil that contains compost but it’s nothing bad like I said it just basically means your soil is alive and is doing its thing for your plants. If your soil has to much compost or your using only compost for your plants I’d try a different soil like potting soil and mix it with the current soil your using that should help prevent further mushrooms
