Need Help! I got a Peace lily, it’s my first one ever! she’s not doing very well and im not sure why! She doesn’t get much sun, is at least 10 feet from a window, and always indirect sunlight. i haven’t moved her into the bigger pot that she’s in (her nursery pot is sitting in it for now) because I read they prefer small pots that their roots can take up! please help! watered yesterday! also i did have her too close to a window before which is why the leaves are browned but now that she’s moved, she’s just not thriving
any help is greatly appreciated đŸ©”

These are the babies from my mother plant. I’ve gifted about 5 or 6 from it as well.

Side note, these are actually getting more light than they need. As a bog plant, peace lilies thrive in “shady” areas.

This is my mother plant. Shes already showing new growth. She lives in leca atm and watered with “clean” dirty fish tank water.

    So my methods
(I do whatever my plants tell me they want😅)
I water any plant I’m intending to transfer to my fish tanks with the dirty tank water first. It’s cycled into a clean bucket from whatever tank I’m working on. Once those plants are watered
the rest of the dirty tank water goes into a bucket with the rest of my “special sauce”. Cinnamon sticks & some cinnamon powder, a mosquito dunk, every other bucket fill I do a low dose of insecticide as preventative (I have plants that spider mites and such LOVE), I use aquarium grade potassium and iron, a flourish tab (aquarium grade), and once a month I add rice water. When I have them, I bake banana peel and grind them into a powder and I’ll add a couple tablespoons once a month. That’s what I use to water my soil potted plants. It’s already in a 5gal bucket so I can drop the pot in to bottom water and then drain it over my dry box. Pop them back in their cache pots and it takes a lot of the work out. For pots I can’t bottom water that way I just dip my water can into the “magic poop water” and give them a drink or I even fill my mist bottle with it

oh my gosh, thank you so much! do you find that you have to refill the aquarium more often because of how much water her roots absorb? Because maybe i will set up an auto top off system on my tank so she doesn’t run low!

I haven’t had my tanks going long and I never had them set up without plants in them
I used my emerged root plants like pothos, philos, a monstera and my lilies to help cycle them faster. I don’t tend to top off rather I do a quick floor clean and then top. So basically a water change. Happens about once every two weeks. I probably only lose a half inch of water during that time

I also don’t use tap water at all as ours here in FL is super hard with really high ammonia and ph levels. I usually get a fresh bucket of “filter fresh” from my aquarium shop. You can use tap, I choose to take the lazy way out and not have to play with balancing with up and down etc
