hi! i have always had trouble with my elephant bush looking dead to being completely fine but this is probably the worst it as ever looked. the first picture is now and the second was just a couple months ago. i am not sure what is wrong with it. i recently started to get rid of fungus gnats and i wondered if they had started to get to the roots of it and were killing it but i have almost no gnats now! i am also wondering if i over water it but it is always completely dry when it’s time to water. anyone have any advice ? thanks (:

I almost wonder if it has a case of the mealies, some white puffy spots from the picture look pretty sketch to me

You would have to take a q tip or makeup brush dipped in rubbing alcohol and brush off any of those white fuzzy spots you see and then check back weekly for about a month or so

I 100% agree with the mealie infestation

awesome, ty! i had pulled off some leaves and it had kind of puffy white stuff on the bottom which i did think to be strange since it never had that before

What kind of media do you have it in? Even if you're waiting till the soil is dry, it doesn't mean it's draining/drying quick enough. The stems are darker than the previous pic , which leads me to believe it's in to compact a soil that's not draining, and possibly the pot doesn't have enough drainage. I would repot it in a faster draining pot, and with a sandy cactus/perlite mix.(not the weird peatmoss mix ive been seeing in some 'cactus' mixes) Also check the roots for any rot, remove anything mushy. And spray with a 1:3 peroxide mix.

it’s regular potting soil, im not too sure but all my other plants are in it and they’re completely fine. when i had issues w this plant before it just wasn’t getting enough sun but its in great light now. thank you for this ! i will be able to repot it in a couple weeks. i water it also with water and peroxide already, would spraying it still also be necessary?

Are they this desert type plant though? Not every plant is okay in just potting soil. Even with a genus or species. I wouldn't add peroxide every time. I would just do the roots when you repot. There is an issue being too clean, abd killing any beneficial bacteria/fungi in the soil.

i have an aloe and echeveria in it too which i think are desert type but im not 100% sure. i will make sure to use just regular water on it now when i repot(:
