Overwatering can cause brown spots, soft brown leaf tips and yellowing from root rot. Check the roots for smelly mushy roots and remove, if any. Remove the damage, disinfect the roots with peroxide and change out the soil. Verify the pot is properly sized if there was a recent repot. The new pot should be only 2 inches wider than the old pot. Extra large pots can hold too much moisture that the plant can’t use up fast enough to prevent root rot. I can’t see what’s the white substance on top. Is there potting soil below it? If so, the white substance ”gravel” could be slowing down the evaporation process and leaving too much water in the soil. I suggest removing the “gravel” to let airflow dry out the soil. 🍀🪴

Thanks. Yes those are white rocks. There was some root damage; washed with lukewarm water and pruned roots; going to let dry out for about an hour then spray with neem oil solution then repot with fresh cactus soil on top of rocks to help with drainage. Nevertheless have two other majesty girls… no issues with them but there was a lighting issue with the one with rotten roots but recently move to better spot and supplement with grow light and humidifier.

Pruned root rot; rinsed with lukewarm water; dried out for an hour; sprayed with neem oil; repotted with fresh cactus palm and citrus soil; lightly watered; she’s happy as me.

I’m glad you found the issue! It should do better with better drainage and good lighting.

What is the cause of fading leaves on my arrowhead plant?

Post in a separate post or others may not see it. Old leaves fade then die off. It’s normal. Leaves fade from too little or too much light. Rotate more often if only one side of the plant if affected. Add a grow light if the area is too dark. Temperature changes can affect the leaves. Usually warm temps can fade leaves. Check the temperature and humidity near the plant especially if it’s near a heating vent or A/C. Insufficient fertilizer can cause plants to fade. 🍀🪴
