😭😭😭😭 My first ever pest infestation after over a year of plant parenting.I cut this leaf off cause at first I thought it was the only infected one and it was a crappy leaf that’s been on the plant since I got it anyway but I see it’s on another leaf too. The surrounding plants weren’t very close to it but they look unaffected and I’ve moved it away. Spider mites right? What do i do?!? 😭

You do everything in this video (minus the soil change) once a week for at least 3 weeks. (Sry can’t share link they’re restricted 🙄)

Boo about the link. I washed the leaves with a soapy neem mix and was very meticulous about it. Seperate paper towels for each leaf and the stems and then I changed gloves removed towels and repeated it as well as quarantine, washing its pot and drain plate. Even turned the ceiling fans in the room off cause it says they can air travel. 😵‍💫

I’ve had success mixing my own insecticide just using liquid pure Castile soap and water, spray it all over from every angle (especially under leaves), then I like to rinse it down in the shower. Repeat once a week till they’re gone (I actually haven’t had to do this more than once though) This is the mix for 3 different sizes of spray bottle (sorry about the units I’m Canadian and we are half metric half imperial 😅)

I’ve heard cattle soap is the best option so I plan to order some. Does matter what type ?

I have Dr Bronner’s baby unscented but I don’t think it matters, I read the peppermint scent can help repel insects

I read the same thing but wasn’t sure if it would harm the leaves. Thankfully I caught it and my leaves are still pretty healthy. I had a few crappy leaves because it was a big box plant but I have several big healthy leaves still.

If your leaves are sensitive I would test it in a small spot first, but I hope this works for you!
