I thought this was a snake plant because that’s what planta said it was, but now I’m pretty convinced it is a Hoya (thank you to everyone who commented on my previous post). I have never had a Hoya before, so I am new to taking care of it. Some of the roots are growing out of the 4 inch pot it came in. I was thinking of repotting it. I only have a 6 inch pot right now. Is that too roomy for its roots? Should I get a 5 inch instead? Since it just arrived is it too soon to repot it?

It looks more like a pubicalyx than a krohniana to me. Just because the roots are growing out of the bottom of the pot doesn’t mean you need to upsize. I’d personally wait until you have like 80%-90% roots and 10-20% soil. When you do go up, a 4 inch to a 6 inch pot should be fine. You could also root prune the bottom third if you don’t want to upsize. Since it just arrived, I’d wait a couple weeks for it to adjust to your home environment before repotting. Other people have different opinions on this, so take mine with a grain of salt

Thank you! I updated it to pubicalyx. I’ll wait a few weeks to see how it does before repotting. Thank you for the advice.
