Please help! I discovered some fuzzy mold on one of my terracotta pots. How do I get rid of it? ☹️

I soak all my pots with HOT soapy water with bleach in it. Then i wash them and soak again in HOT water. It makes them sll clean.

That’s good to know! So the hot water doesn’t cause the terracotta pot to crack? Also, does the plant need to be removed to do that?

To get rid of white mold on plant pots, remove the plant, scrub the pot with water and a stiff brush, then use a diluted solution of white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide to clean the pot thoroughly. You can also treat the mold by removing and replacing the top layer of soil or by adding a natural anti-fungal like cinnamon to the soil. To prevent regrowth, control humidity, avoid overwatering, and ensure proper air circulation

No the hot water doesn't cause it to break. Yes you definitely have to remove the plant and soil. I would also change the soil incase there is mold in it also.

The white mold is harmless. Just wipe off with a damp cloth. Sometimes you will get algae growth too. Just wipe it off. Both are from moisture and the porous property of terracotta. When you want to clean a terracotta pot after it’s been used, soak in vinegar and water for about 45 minutes. The soak will remove mineral deposits and many of the stains from being used.
