Sweet P

Not sure what’s going on here with the browning of leaves - too much water too little water or Mo direct sunlight? It’s in the hallway or an office with no windows. The lights are on all day however not on the weekends. I tried to water once a week. Any help appreciated!

Yeah they usually do that especially on the edges and especially in a lower light situation. Its ok to not give it light on the weekends but you might not need to water it once a week. Just make sure its completely dry all the way to the bottom before watering again. You can get it a growlight for the week days or not. Also i would trim some of the brown off in hopes it won't spread.

The browning of the leaves is typically an issue with watering. Looking at the photo above it is a indication of watering improperly. I would not suggest cutting the brown of the leaves off to avoid spreading. It wont have any effect if it is going to spread. This is more of a cosmetic fix when you don't want to look at the brown. For this specific plant you should be watering every 13 days! Hope this helps!

I started using water conditioner on my plants and all brown edges have disappeared.

Distilled water. Check soil for overwatering. Check roots for any rot. Roots should be fleshy and firm, not black/brown or mushy. Make sure soil has adequate drainage, ceramic and plastic pots retain more moisture than clay pots. Does it have a drainage hole? You can also try to amend the soil using perlite and sand - I’d start with about 45/45/10 percent good potting soil/perlite/sand. That’s just a recommendation, but also make sure the soil has time to dry out a bit by adjusting your watering schedule. Number one way plants become dead is by overwatering. Dracena is also notorious for pests - spider mites, etc although it looks more like a watering issue.

Also could be fungus if it has been chronically overwatered.
