My beloved Chinese evergreen is fading and I don’t know why 😭😭😭 I think it’s because lack of light?? but I literally have no place else that’s brighter to put it. And I haven’t had success with grow lights in the passed. Does anyone have any ideas or think it may be something else?

Consider getting a grow light to aide in keeping the variegated leaves. Just get a grow light that the pole can be extended high above your foliage. Give it the supplemental light for no longer then 12 to 14 hours a day

Yeah you need to look on Amazon for a growlight. Get one with reviews about 4.6 or higher of course or one that has 80% good reviews.

Definitely look at the ratings but can’t rely on them totally because buyers will give a high rating to a light that they think is very bright. Problem is they are not comparing it to other grow lights because it’s their only one. Most people have no idea how bright a grow light needs to be. Look at my Planta and you will see that I have many. I have found most of the long tube lights are useless. Some companies will boast the number of led’s and different colors. The colors are of no value to your house plants. You need full spectrum. And should have a minimum 10 watts of power. If wattage is not listed, then it’s probably too low. Brands that I know are good are Sansi and Barrina. There are some other good brands but these two are always reliable. I use Sansi for succulents and Barrina for tropicals and Haworthias and Gasterias. They have different properties of illumination. Just my two cents from my experiences.

If you want to check the light, get the Photone app if you can. It was a game changer for me. My aglaonemas also get mad if their butts can't breathe... Can the bottom of your planter get any air flow?

Yes right now it has a tray under it with no air flow do you think I should remove it so it can get the air flow?

It couldn't hurt and might even help. At Wolfen's suggestion, I put a fan in the area I keep most of my plants to get some air flow in there when my plants were staying wet too long, and that helped a lot. They don't like wet butts. Understandable, of course... We don't either 😅
